Pool Service in Fresno, TX
Fresno is the unincorporated community along FM 521 in Fort Bend County, about 11 miles southeast of our Sugar Land office and home to Teal Run, Winfield Lakes, Andover Farms and Cambridge Falls. Its subdivisions went up between the 1980s and the mid-2000s, so many backyard pools here are old enough that original equipment is failing or has already been swapped once. Lanterra Pools covers both weekly upkeep and fixes, and we look for the cause of a failure before pricing anything.
From cotton land to Teal Run
Fresno was named by a settler from Fresno, California, on land patented in 1880 and ringed by cotton plantations. By 1936 it amounted to three rows of houses on either side of a paved highway, old Highway 288, the road now signed FM 521 that becomes Almeda once it reaches Houston. Houston's growth in the 1970s and 1980s turned the surrounding forest and grazing land into subdivisions, and the 2020 census counted 24,486 people. It is still a census-designated place inside Houston's extraterritorial jurisdiction rather than a city.
Teal Run opened first, in the 1980s. Estates of Teal Run followed in 1999, Teal Run North in 2001, Winfield Lakes and Andover Farms in 2004 and Cambridge Falls in 2005, and NewPoint Estates is another of Fresno's residential communities. If your pool was built along with an early Teal Run house, its plaster, tile and coping have had decades of sun and chemistry, and resurfacing or tile and coping work may be the next step. A pool from 2004 or 2005 is about 20 years old, long enough that its first pump, filter or heater has often been replaced or is close to it.
What MUD 23 water means for balancing
Fort Bend County MUD 23 supplies six of those neighborhoods: Teal Run, Teal Run North, Estates of Teal Run, Winfield Lakes, Andover Farms and Cambridge Falls. The district's 2025 water quality report identifies the Evangeline aquifer, a groundwater source, as its supply. Homes elsewhere in the 77545 ZIP code may get water from another district, and your water bill will name yours.
That report gives no hardness number, so we read calcium hardness and alkalinity from your own pool rather than assume them. Summer evaporation leaves minerals behind with every top-off, and on a salt system the calcium level governs how quickly a salt cell crusts over. Working from real readings is how we keep salt water pool systems producing chlorine.
Prairie clay under the deck
Fresno sits on flat Gulf Coast prairie. The USDA's reference site for Lake Charles clay, a prairie soil formed in Pleistocene Beaumont Formation deposits, lies within Fort Bend County. In dry weather that clay splits open in cracks 12 inches or deeper, then swells shut when rain returns, although the series mapped under any given Fresno lot can vary.
Around a pool, that seasonal movement usually appears as a widening seam at the coping, fresh cracks across the deck, or plumbing that starts to weep after a dry summer. If the level drops with no obvious cause, we check the pad, the lines and the shell before recommending anything, whether the answer turns out to be equipment and plumbing repair or deck and coping work.
Detention ponds and the Harvey list
MUD 23's district property includes trails, tennis courts and detention ponds, the basins that hold stormwater on ground this flat. On August 29, 2017, during Hurricane Harvey, ABC13 published Fort Bend County's list of neighborhoods expected to be affected by floodwater. It included Andover Farms, Teal Run, Estates of Teal Run, Teal Run Court and Teal Run Meadows. That list was a forecast, not a record of which homes flooded.
A Gulf storm does not have to flood a yard to make work. Wind fills the pool with leaves and grit, and inches of rain dilute the chemistry and can lift the water above the skimmer. Pool storm cleanup removes the debris, inspects the pad and rebalances before the system returns to its normal schedule.
Getting to FM 521

Learn morePool Renovations
Teal Run dates to the 1980s, and a pool built with one of its first homes carries decades of wear on plaster, waterline tile and coping that resurfacing can address.
Learn moreWeekly Pool Service
MUD 23 draws Evangeline aquifer groundwater and publishes no hardness figure, so weekly testing of your own water keeps scale and cloudiness from building.
Learn morePool Storm Cleanup
Andover Farms and several Teal Run sections were on Fort Bend County's Harvey floodwater watch list, and any Gulf storm here brings debris and rain that throw off chemistry.
