Pool Service in Meadows Place, TX
Meadows Place is under one square mile, wedged between Sugar Land, Stafford and southwest Houston, and most of its houses date from 1968 through the 1970s. That makes it one of the easiest stops on our map: our Sugar Land office is about 2 miles away off US-59, and backyard pools here share a lot of the same history.
A small city with one story
The city began as the Meadows MUD in 1967, saw its first homes in 1968, and incorporated in 1983 as "Meadows" to stay out of Houston's reach. It took the Meadows Place name in 1997 after mail kept getting confused with Meadow, Texas. The 2020 census counted about 4,800 residents in what is essentially one subdivision built out in numbered sections, and your mail may well say Stafford: the two share ZIP 77477.
Because the housing went up in one era, pools here tend to face the same issues at the same time. A pool put in behind a 1970s house has likely been replastered at least once, and some are still holding out on their original finish. Equipment pads of that vintage commonly turn up single-speed pumps, mechanical timers and plumbing with a few generations of repairs in it.
Well water and the white line at the tile
Meadows Place operates its own water utility, pumping groundwater from three city wells. Groundwater can carry dissolved minerals, and when that fill water evaporates in a Texas summer, calcium is left behind as a chalky band along the waterline tile and inside heaters and salt cells.
We have not found a published hardness figure for Meadows Place water, so the test kit makes the call. Your technician reads the calcium, pH and alkalinity in the pool itself each week and keeps the water from tipping into scaling territory. If the crust is already there, tile cleaning starts by identifying the buildup and the tile so the removal method fits both, and steady chemistry keeps it from rebuilding.
Flat ground, Brays Bayou drainage
The land here is flat Gulf Coast prairie; when the city built its central park, the site was described as flat, hard-packed ground. Fort Bend County prairie soils are a mix of sandy loam and clay. Clay expands with every soaking and contracts in drought, and after decades of that the seam where coping meets concrete can pull apart.
Meadows Place sits in the Brays Bayou watershed, the same drainage system that takes in Keegans and Willow Waterhole bayous. On flat lots, a heavy Gulf rain can push yard runoff, grass clippings and leaves straight into a pool. A quick skim and filter check after a downpour, and a look at how water sheds off the deck, prevent most cloudy water problems before they start.
Two miles from our door
Meadows Place is a short hop northeast of our Sugar Creek Center Blvd office along US-59/I-69, with W Airport Blvd and S Kirkwood Rd as the local streets in. Beltway 8 runs about a mile past the city's northeast side. On weekly service, your pool gets the same technician on a set weekday. We also serve the neighbors in Stafford, Alief and Sugar Land.
Around Meadows Place
Where Meadows Place pools need attention
Weekly Pool Service
Mineral-bearing well water plus long, hot summers push chemistry around. Steady weekly testing and balancing catches scale and algae before they take hold.
Learn morePool Equipment Repair
Pads behind 1970s homes can carry aging pumps, filters and timers. We diagnose the actual failure first and quote the fix before any work begins.
Learn morePool Tile Cleaning
Groundwater minerals leave a white ring along the tile as the pool evaporates. Regular tile cleaning removes it before it hardens into heavy scale.
Learn morePool Renovations
Homes here date from 1968 through the 1970s, so many backyard pools have worn plaster, loose tile or cracked coping that a renovation can bring back.
