Pool Service in Jersey Village, TX

Jersey Village is its own small city, incorporated in 1956 at the spot where White Oak Bayou begins, and that headwaters location shapes how its pools should be cared for. Lanterra Pools covers weekly care, with the same person servicing your pool on a set weekday, cleanup after heavy rain, and repair advice you can trust: the cause gets found before any fix is quoted.

Two water sources, one tap

Jersey Village runs its own water system. Its 2025 water quality report lists two city wells drawing from the Gulf Coast Aquifer, plus water purchased through an interconnect with Houston's main system. The city's report gives no hardness figure for its own wells. For the Houston share, the 2025 range for total hardness was 43.5 to 229 ppm.

So nobody should guess at your calcium level here. Calcium hardness, alkalinity and pH together decide whether the water leaves white scale on the tile line or slowly etches plaster, which is why every weekly visit includes a test at the pool itself. It matters most in late summer, when evaporation has you running the hose every few days.

Life at the head of White Oak Bayou

White Oak Bayou starts near the US 290 and Highway 6 interchange and runs about 25 miles southeast to Buffalo Bayou downtown. The city's own floodplain page is frank about what that has meant: about 200 homes flooded in Tropical Storm Frances in 1998, about 500 in Allison in 2001, more than 200 damaged in October 2002, and more than 200 again in the 2016 Tax Day Flood. During Harvey in 2017 the bayou topped its banks here.

The city added a bypass channel in 2010 and a detention basin in 2014, and a Harris County Flood Control District project pairs channel work between Tidwell Road and FM 1960 with more storage at Jersey Meadow Golf Course. New construction has to sit 24 inches above base flood elevation. All of that is aimed at keeping water out of houses. A backyard pool is a different story: it sits open at ground level, so a hard rain can still wash runoff, silt and yard debris over the coping.

When runoff gets into the pool

Muddy water in a pool is a different job from a few leaves after a thunderstorm. Fine silt clogs a filter fast, and organic matter feeds algae while it burns through your chlorine. If the pad where your pump and filter sit took on water, keep the pump off until a technician has checked it: a wet motor or a mud-packed filter can fail quickly once it starts.

Our storm cleanup starts at that equipment pad, then moves to debris removal, a full filter cleaning and rebalancing. If the water has already started turning, green pool cleanup brings it back before you lose a whole weekend of swimming.

Mid-century lots, 1990s estates, big trees

The first homesites went in around Jersey Lake in the mid-1950s, on land where the developers also set aside space for a school, a park and an 18-hole golf course. Local legend says the name came from Clark W. Henry's Jersey dairy cows. The city had 493 residents in 1961 and 7,921 in the 2020 census. Wyndham Village, inside the city limits east of White Oak Bayou, added about 93 estate homes on large lots in the mid-1990s.

Shade comes with the territory. Clark Henry Park on Equador Street has mature live oaks, and if your own yard has big trees near the water, expect a full skimmer basket most weeks and a filter that loads faster each spring. Below ground, much of this region sits on shrink-swell clay that cracks in dry spells and swells after rain, so we watch for gaps at the coping and for water loss that could point to a plumbing leak.

From Sugar Land to the bayou's headwaters

Jersey Village lies north of Sugar Land, about 19 miles from our office in a straight line. Most trips run up Highway 6 past Addicks toward US 290, and the other option is US 59 to Beltway 8 north. Your pool gets a fixed day on the route, and the technician who learns its quirks keeps coming back to it.

Pool service in Jersey Village: FAQ

Very likely. ZIP codes 77040, 77041 and 77065 take in streets inside and outside the city limit, and even Jersey Meadow Golf Course, in the middle of town, uses a Houston mailing address. Lanterra also covers Cypress and north Houston, so send us the street address and we can confirm your service day.
No. The bypass channel and detention basins lower the risk for homes, but draining a pool is the wrong move either way. A full pool helps hold the shell in place, and the ground is most saturated right after a storm, which is the worst time to empty it. Beforehand, bring loose furniture and toys inside and cut power to the equipment at the breaker if flooding looks likely. Afterward, clean and treat the water rather than replacing it, unless a technician finds a specific reason to drain.
Usually calcium scale. Water evaporates, the minerals stay, and each refill from the tap brings in more. Because Jersey Village water blends city wells with Houston supply, we measure calcium instead of assuming it, and keep pH and alkalinity where scale forms slowly. Crust that is already there comes off with tile cleaning, ideally before it builds into a hard layer.
